The LINC will create a linear park spanning approximately a mile along Memorial Highway from Lincoln Avenue in the north to Huguenot Street in the south, as well as an east-west spur extending from the Memorial Highway Roundabout, across North Avenue, to Exit 16 off the New England Thruway. The LINC will provide safe and easy connections from the Lincoln Avenue corridor to downtown New Rochelle while providing a new open space amenity to the city.

Community input has shaped the preliminary designs of the LINC. Preview the designs below, and to see them in person, visit us at an upcoming event.

LINC Workshop Recap

In March 2023, community members from across the city joined the City of New Rochelle’s Department of Development at two design workshops to share their ideas and priorities for The LINC Park. The workshops were designed to be fun and interactive and create a public conversation about the project. See pictures of these events below.

On March 4th and 6th, the City of New Rochelle hosted two public design workshops collectively facilitated by three consulting firms (Karp Strategies, Starr Whitehouse, and VHB) to gather community feedback about the LINC, a new park coming to Memorial Highway. Thank you to all who attended!

Workshop participants shared their insights and preferences on design choices across twelve elements, from plants and paths to playgrounds and adult fitness.

Takeaways

The overwhelming majority of workshop participants were in support of the LINC and felt that this new park will have positive impacts on the community.
